Our Father – Forgiveness and Prayer

1. Our Father – Forgiveness and Prayer

Matt 6:6-But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. 7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. 8 “Do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. 9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

2. Our Father Answers Our Prayers in the Secret Place

Mk 11:24-26 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. 25 “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

Faith only works through love and love always forgives

Is 58:4 What good is fasting and praying when you keep on fighting and quarreling and strike viciously with your fist? You cannot fast and pray as you do today and have your voice heard on high.

3.Forgive Us Lord – Sin Will Make You Do Thing That You Will Later Regret

Is 43:25 “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins anymore.

Lk 15:17-20 “But when he came to himself, he said 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, 19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”’ 20 “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.

Ps 103:13 The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.

4.We Must Forgive Them - My Destiny is Not For Sale

Matt 6:14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. When we choose to hold on to our past we forfeit our future

Heb 13:15 looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled and useless to God 16 lest there be any fornicator or perverted person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright.

Phil 3:12-14 I don’t mean to say that I have it all together and have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess the purpose for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. 13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not arrived yet, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to
