Why The Urgency?

1. Why The Urgency?

2 Cor 4:3-10 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. 7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels to tell the world, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.

Lk 14:15-24 ‘Go out quickly (urgency) into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor, maimed, lame and blind. Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. Soul winning is God’s heartbeat, so it’s our heartbeat. Compel: to secure or to bring about by force, to force, to submit, & subdue - never allow the enemy to steal our urgency

Js 5:19-20 My dear friends, if you know people who have wandered off from God's truth, don't write them off. Go after them. Get them back 20 that person who brings him back to God will have saved a wandering soul from death, bringing about the forgiveness of his many sins.

Lk 19:10 "I have come to seek and to save that which was lost."

Lk 16:19-31 In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24 So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.' 28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.

Jude 23 save some by snatching them from the very flames of hell itself.

Lk 15:15 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ 7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

Prov 24:11-12 Rescue the perishing; don't hesitate to step in and help. 12 If you say, "Hey, that's none of my business," will that get you off the hook? Someone is watching you closely, you know Someone not impressed with weak excuses.

2. Urgency is Created When We Remember – Passing the Prosperity Test

Deut 8:11-14 your heart is lifted up, and you forget the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

Rev 3:15-19 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

1 Tim 1:15-17 Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners-and I was the greatest of them all. 16 But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as an example to show everyone how patient he is with even the worst sinners, so that others will realize that they, too, can have forgivness of sin and everlasting life.
